VR — Vibration Isolation Style

The RPS “VR” Vibration Rail Base is designed to isolate rooftop equipment noise and vibration while providing continuous structural support and a fully air- and water-tight seal. Each VR system is custom-engineered to fit between rooftop equipment and an RPS roof curb.

The standard RPS "VR" base can be furnished with a continuous closed cell neoprene gasket on either the top, bottom, or both surfaces.
One or two inch extruded aluminum extensions are furnished when the supported equipment's base rail exceeds three inches high.
Cross members are supplied upon request to support and seal flexibly connected ducts
For a condenser section supported by a separate Equipment Rail, a separate aluminum spring rail or two individual spring isolators are required to support the condenser section.

Key Features

Superior Vibration Isolation
Built with 1" static-deflection, zinc-plated springs that are totally enclosed for weather and corrosion protection. Springs are free-standing, laterally stable, and computer-selected for uniform loading across the system.
Custom Fit for Rooftop Equipment
Designed to seamlessly integrate with the selected RPS roof curb and the equipment above. Bases ship in four mitered, pre-drilled sections for simple field assembly.
Continuous Support & Sealing
Ensures continuous equipment support and an air/watertight connection when installed between rooftop units and RPS roof curbs.
Optional Sealing Gaskets
Available with continuous closed-cell neoprene gaskets on the top, bottom, or both surfaces.
Flexible Construction Options
- One- or two-inch extruded aluminum extensions for equipment with base rails exceeding 3" in height.
- Optional cross members to support and seal flexibly connected ducts.
Condenser Section Support
When supporting a condenser section with a separate equipment rail, a separate aluminum spring rail or two individual spring isolators are required.
Installation-Friendly Design
VR bases ship alongside the corresponding RPS roof curb for efficient jobsite assembly and alignment.

Roof Curb Specification

Provide factory-insulated, premanufactured roof curbs of Style RC-(suffix per required profile), manufactured by Roof Products & Systems, Huntsville, AL. Curbs shall include:

Box-section construction with full base plate
18-gauge galvanized steel and continuous welded corners
Factory-installed wood nailer with concealed fasteners
1-1/2" thick, 3 lb. density rigid fiberglass insulation, encapsulated top and bottom
Internal stiffeners as required
Minimum curb height per drawings
Ability to accommodate roof deck slope to provide a level mounting surface
Optional burglar bars, liners, and other accessories as specified

VR Aluminum Base Specification

VR Aluminum Bases shall:

Provide continuous support and weathertight protection
Be constructed of four mitered, pre-drilled sections for field assembly with provided self-tapping screws
Include sealing of all joints with resilient silicone caulk
Incorporate 1" static-deflection springs
Include aluminum spring rails or individual spring isolators when required
Ensure all ducts, piping, gas, water, and electrical conduits are flexibly connected to prevent vibration transfer to the building structure
